Teal Pumpkin Project
The Teal Pumpkin Project is a nationwide initiative created by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) that promotes safe and inclusive trick-or-treating experiences for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Participating households and events display a teal-colored pumpkin to signal that they are offering non-food treats, such as toys or stickers, instead of or in addition to traditional candy.
Register your house as a Teal Pumpkin House with the City of Mandan by the morning of Oct. 31 to be added to our map: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/a044f4dd4be64c458fd0d2b0d54ca5d8. We are also accepting events that will have allergy-friendly items available.
Our map is updated occasionally and can be viewed here. (Note: Your registration will not appear in the map until after its been reviewed and approved).
Trick or Treating in Mandan is on Halloween each year. There is no set time, but typically goes from 6-9 p.m. A porch light on signifies a home prepared for trick-or-treaters. If the porch light is off the home is not participating/no longer participating.
Please note, this map is only for teal pumpkin houses in 2024. In the future, we will look at expanding the map.
