Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding development and land use in and within 2 miles of the city's corporate boundaries. The scope includes:
- Review of master plans, preliminary and final plats,
- Zone change requests,
- Annexations,
- Transportation studies,
- Street vacations, and
- Other items as instructed by the City Commission
- Meetings are typically held the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Planning & Zoning applications must be submitted 30 days prior to the Planning & Zoning Meeting. If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline would be the preceding business day.
The Planning & Zoning Commission is broadcasted by Dakota Media Access. The broadcast is live if it doesn't conflict with a previous schedule. Otherwise, the meetings will be re-aired the night of the meeting at 9 p.m. on channels 2 and 602 HD. All programming can be watched at freetv.org.
