Our Responsibilities

• Long-Range Planning and Zoning
• Planning oversees the operations related to long-range planning and zoning, laying the groundwork for the City's future development. The department works to create and update plans that guide the City's growth and ensure that zoning regulations are in place to support these plans.

• Comprehensive Planning Activities and Corridor Studies

• Our department plans, supervises, and coordinates comprehensive planning activities. We conduct detailed corridor studies to enhance transportation, land use, and economic development along key routes within the City. 

• Development Applications and Approvals

• We accept and review common development applications, working closely with applicants to guide them through the process. Our staff coordinates the approval process and provides recommendations to City boards, ensuring that developments meet the City's standards and regulations.
• Technical Advice and Support

• We provide technical advice and support to residents and landowners on development matters. Whether you are considering a new project or need guidance on existing developments, we are here to help. 

• Liaison Services

• Our department serves as a liaison between various City departments and other agencies involved in growth and development. We can assist with communication and coordination, helping to align efforts.
