Before You Come To Court

What you should know

  • Mandan Municipal Court is held in the Morton County Courthouse, 210 2nd Ave NW, Mandan. Go to the second floor, courtroom 200.
  • Check in with the Clerk of Court.
  • Pagers and other electronic devices must be turned off.
  • You cannot wear hats, caps or other headwear in the courtroom.
  • Dress as if you were going to a job interview.

Schedule

  • Court convenes in regular session at 8:30 a.m. every Wednesday for Arraignments/First Appearances. 
  • Order to show Cause or parking ticket summons and complaint violations are held at 9:30 a.m. and trials are set in ½ hour increments starting at 10 a.m.  

After court begins, you may not speak to other people in the courtroom. The judge will tell you when it is your turn to speak.

 

The court may provide language and sign interpreters for individuals appearing in court. Contact the Clerk of Court’s office, (701) 667-3270, in advance if you or someone you know will need these services.

 

The following items are not allowed in the courtroom and may be confiscated:

  • Cell phones
  • Cameras and other recording devices
  • Food or beverages
  • Reading materials
  • Anything that can be used as a weapon
