Employee Benefits

 

The City of Mandan offers a strong benefits package designed to support both employee health and long-term financial wellbeing.

Benefits begin on the first day of the month following your start date. Employees scheduled for at least 20 hours per week are eligible to enroll in all core benefit programs.


Health Insurance Coverage

Civilian Employees receive fully paid health insurance for employee-only coverage. Family coverage follows a five-yearar vesting schedule. After five years of continuous employment, the City extends this support by covering the full cost of family coverage as well.

Sworn Police Officers receive fully paid health insurance for both employee and family coverage starting on their first day of benefit eligibility.


Eligibility and Enrollment

Once eligible, employees can enroll in medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefits, along with financial protection programs such as life insurance, retirement contributions, and long-term disability. These options give employees the ability to choose the coverage that fits their needs.

Employees also have access to leave benefits, wellness resources, and several optional plans. Together, these programs support overall wellbeing and help employees maintain balance throughout their career with the city.
