Businesses Rely on Local Support Through Construction

Mandan is abuzz with construction projects this summer to help improve roadways throughout the community. Business owners appreciate the community’s ongoing support and hope that it will continue throughout construction.

Main Street. Knife River Contracting is diligently working to keep at least one access to all businesses open along Main Street. The downtown area is expected to be most impacted throughout the remainder of the project. Parking is available along Main Street, however customers may also park on the avenues or on First Street and walk to their desired location. Main Street will remain open, however there will be times that repairs will limit the open roadway to two lanes.

1806 North. Old Red Trail from Mandan Ave to 27th St. NW remains under construction. The roadway is expected to be open throughout the project, but may be down to one lane with flaggers directing traffic at times. Drivers may use Collins Ave or Sunset Dr. as a detour.

Mid-Town East. The Mid-Town East street improvement project is wrapping up and most roadways in the area north of Main St. to Fifth St. NE and east of Collins Ave to Fourth Ave NE remain open.

Lakewood. Northern Improvement is working on a street improvement project in the Lakewood area. Access to businesses in the area remains open.

Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to use caution in construction areas. Periodic updates on these projects are posted to cityofmandan.com/roadprojects.

When you support local businesses, you improve our community in many ways. These range from property tax relief and support for public infrastructure and services to neighbors helping neighbors through donations to youth and civic groups, events and charities.
