160 Trees Being Planted with Hwy 1806 N Reconstruction Project

Aug. 30, 2021 - Highway 1806 N reconstruction project plans include approximately 160 trees being planted in the project area. The trees will be planted as part of the project, then the City’s forestry department will care for the trees going forward.

Tree cost is included in the overall approximate $8.79 million construction project, a cost-share with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT). The City of Mandan is responsible for 10%.

This project will reconstruct and widen Old Red Trail from Mandan Ave to Collins Ave, install a roundabout for optimal traffic control at the intersection of Old Red Trail and Collins Ave, widen highway 1806 to the north past 27th Street NW where turn lanes will be added. It also includes some spot improvements to Mandan Ave between I-94 and the refinery gates and surface improvements to interstate ramps.

Information on the Hwy 1806 North project is available at cityofmandan.com/roadprojects. The project is underway and anticipated to be complete by the end of October.
