The intersection at Collins Ave and 14th St NW will be converted from a 4-way stop to a 2-way stop on June 30, and remain in place for approximately two weeks.

Temporary Traffic Change at 14th St NW & Collins Ave Intersection

Jun. 30, 2026 - In anticipation of the Fourth of July festivities, the intersection at Collins Avenue and 14th Street NW will be converted from a 4-way stop to a 2-way stop.

Why? After large events north of the interstate, traffic traveling south can back up at the 14th Street and Collins intersection. These vehicles can back up into the roundabout at Old Red Trail. This congestion blocks flow in all directions at the roundabout and can take a very long time to clear. Prioritizing traffic on Collins will remove the bottleneck and help alleviate issues at the roundabout.

For how long? The change will occur on Tuesday, June 30 and will stay in place for approximately 2 weeks. This will allow traffic to adjust to the change leading up to the weekend and allow the community to evaluate the 2-way stop as a potential long-term solution.
