Changes to Downtown Parking Approved

Oct. 26, 2021 - In October, the City Commission approved changes to downtown parking:

• Enforcement time for 90-minute parking zones is now 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week. Previously, it was 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The change in enforcement time lines up with business hours in the area and allows for more rounds by the parking enforcement officers.

• Addition of a 90-minute parking zone on the south side of the 200 block of W Main Street. The remaining parking area on the south side of Main has no time limit.

Main Street lane reallocation in the downtown area of Collins to Sixth Ave NW made for a parking lane on the south side of the street; a net gain of over 30 additional parking spots in the core downtown area.

The Parking Authority will review the south side of Main Street parking in February to see if any adjustments to enforcement areas and time are needed.
