2024 Mandan Photo Contest Opens

Jan. 24, 2024 — Photographers of all ages and experience levels are invited to enter Mandan’s third annual photo contest by capturing special features in the community and surrounding areas in Morton County. In order to capture everything going on in Mandan in 2024 and all the seasons, the contest will be open through Dec. 31, 2024.

“This contest continues to be a great way to capture the things people love about what makes our community great,” says contest chair Rena Mehlhoff, a member of the Mandan Tomorrow – Leadership, Pride and Image (LPI) Committee.

All category winners will receive $100 in Mandan Bucks gift certificates sponsored by local businesses. Categories include Achievement, Community, Fun, Opportunity, County, People’s Choice, Top Youth Entry and new this year, Best in Show.

Best in Show will be selected by contest judges and will come from the group of photographs selected as finalists.

Additional perks for photographers include:

• Exhibition of winning photographs for at least a year at Mandan City Hall or other public facility plus provided to each category sponsor for display.
• Consideration for inclusion in other public art displays.
• Publication in print and online for purposes of tourism promotion and community marketing with credit given to the photographer whenever possible.

The public will vote online for the people’s choice award winner in January 2025. Details will be announced after finalists are selected.

The 2023 photo contest drew 55 entries from 24 talented photographers.
