Fireworks Only Permitted July 3 & 4
The possession, use, discharge and explosion of fireworks is only permitted from noon to 11:59 p.m. on July 3 and 4.
- No sky lanterns, bottle rockets. The possession, manufacture, storage, sale and use of sky lanterns and bottle rockets is prohibited within city limits.
- Fireworks off limits in parks. Fireworks are prohibited at all city parks, with the exception of Mandan Rodeo Days’ annual display at Dacotah Centennial Park.
Please pick up and dispose of all remnants afterwards. Fireworks should be disposed of in the regular garbage as they are not recyclable. To properly dispose of used fireworks, wait until they are completely extinguished and no longer warm. Before placing unused fireworks in your garbage tote, remove the fuse and soak in water overnight.
Please use caution and stay safe. The fee for violations is $150.
It’s important to note that this reflects a 2020 ordinance change and is different from previous years. In the past, dry conditions have led to fireworks bans. Conditions will continue to be evaluated as the July 4 holiday approaches, and any updates will be posted at cityofmandan.com/news.
