Public Works Announcement - Snow Equipment Training & Trial Runs

Public Works Department will be holding its own “pre-season” this year, conducting snow training and trial runs from November 12–14.

 

These sessions are part of our annual winter readiness program to make sure both our veteran and new operators are prepared when the first major snow arrives. Residents may notice plows and other snow equipment operating throughout the city as crews complete route familiarization, calibration, and equipment checks.

 

Even if a small snowfall occurs, you may see more machinery than usual on the roads. This allows newer team members, many of whom are experiencing their first snow season, to get hands-on experience and ensure the efficiency and safety of Mandan’s snow response when it really counts.

 

We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as our crews gear up for the winter season, because, as they say, practice makes perfect.
