8th Ave from 24th Street NW to 27 Street NW will be closed for repairs Oct. 3-4.

Oct. 2, 2024 –Eighth Ave NW from 24^th Street NW to 27^th Street NW will be closed for repairs Thursday, Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4. Side-street parking will be available on 24^th and 27^th Street NW during the closure.

Contractors will be pulverizing the existing asphalt pavement and base, and treating it with a stabilization solution. There will also be a gradual transition from the new full-width section to the existing half-width section installed.

The City secured $4M in federal funds for a future roadway project that will include improvements similar to Eighth Ave NW between Old Red Trail and 24^th Street. This stabilization effort is intended to keep the road in working condition until that project can proceed.

Motorists should seek alternate routes during the closure.
