Jan. 27 Deadline for Mandan Business Pitch Challenge

Contest Provides Prizes, Support & Connections

The deadline to enter Mandan’s fourth Business Pitch Challenge is Jan. 27. The competition is for prospective and start-up businesses to assist them in fine-tuning their ideas toward securing investment and financing to advance from concept to launch, from early stage to profitability.

“Our overall goal is to inspire and support a local culture of entrepreneurism,” explains Mandan’s Business Development and Communications Director Ellen Huber.

The winner receives the chance to be eligible for up to a $10,000 forgivable loan from the Mandan Growth Fund plus other cash awards, services and useful merchandise. All of the top four finalists also receive prizes.

Requirements include that the business be under two years old with less than $250,000 in cumulative revenue. Businesses should be located in Mandan or willing to locate in the community or a 10-mile radius in Morton County within approximately a year following selection of the winner. The finals will be held March 23 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Baymont Inn. The public is welcome to attend and select a people’s choice award recipient. Sign up at www.cityofmandan.com/register.

The Mandan Tomorrow - Economic Opportunity and Prosperity Committee hosts the challenge with assistance from City of Mandan Business Development, the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC and North Dakota Small Business Development Centers.

Winners of prior contests are Letter the Lawn, 2021; Latidot Scoop and Gift Shop, 2019; and Nordic Steel Building Systems, 2018. Other finalists have also gone on to open and expand in Mandan.
