City Commission
Comprised of five members including the mayor, each elected to four-year terms.
- Two commissioners are serving terms that end in 2026.
Park Board
Comprised of five members, each elected to four-year terms.
- Three commissioners are currently serving terms that end in 2026.
School Board
Comprised of nine members, each elected to three-year terms. There is no limit to the number of terms a board member may serve.
- Three members are currently serving terms ending in 2026.
County Commission & Other County Office
Four-year terms.
- Two County Commissioners are currently serving terms ending in 2026.

REQUIREMENTS
City Commission or Park Board. Anyone interested in running for City office in an upcoming election must file with the City Administration Office, 205 2nd Ave NW, Mandan:
- Completed Petitions/Certificates of Nomination (SFN 2704)
- Statement of Interests (SFN 10172)
- Campaign Contribution Statement (SFN 53970)

School Board. Individuals running for School Board in an upcoming election must file with the Mandan Public Schools Business Office, 901 Division St NW, Mandan:
- Statement of Interests (SFN 10172)
- A statement declaring the candidate’s name and the position for which the person is seeking to be a candidate:
- The statement should indicate whether the candidate is seeking a regular or unexpired term. A position appearing on the ballot will be to fill either a regular or unexpired term as explained below.
- Regular Term: A regular term of office is the length of time that a person has been elected to serve. (Example: The candidate was elected to a 3-year term and served the full term.)
- Unexpired Term: An unexpired term of office means that the person elected to the office left before the end of their regular term. The remaining amount of the regular term of office appears on the ballot as an unexpired term. (Example: The candidate was elected to a 3-year term and resigned after 1 year, leaving a 2-year unexpired term.)
- The statement should indicate whether the candidate is seeking a regular or unexpired term. A position appearing on the ballot will be to fill either a regular or unexpired term as explained below.
County Office. Anyone interested inf running for County office in an upcoming election must file with the Auditor's Office, 210 2nd Ave NW, Mandan:
- Completed Petitions/Certificates of Nomination (SFN 2704)
- Statement of Interests (SFN 10172)
- Affidavit of Candidacy (SFN 02703)
