Cybersecurity Awareness (Public-Facing)

The City of Mandan encourages residents and businesses to stay safe online. Protecting your personal information helps reduce the risk of identity theft and fraud.

Here are a few simple steps you can take to improve your online security:

  • Watch for phishing emails or suspicious links. Don’t click on unexpected attachments or messages requesting personal information.

  • Use strong, unique passwords for each account, and update them regularly.

  • Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) whenever it’s available. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step — such as a code sent to your phone — before granting access to your accounts.

  • Keep your devices and software updated to ensure you have the latest security protections.
